Pocket Fire is based out of Carrollton, GA and have been active in the music industry since Feb. 2023. Combining their individual influences and years of experience, they work tirelessly to explore, and push, the boundaries of Rock, Pop, R&B, Funk, and Jazz. On Halloween of 2023, they released a gypsy-jazz style single along with a music video on YouTube entitled “Grandaddy Longleg”. They have recently released their first single “Planetarium” which incorporates elements of Progressive Rock and World Music. Lead singer/ co-songwriter/ guitarist John Paul Barry is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. John Paul is a experienced songwriter, producer, performer, and music instructor. His style of guitar playing covers a wide rage of genres, and is heavily steeped in a rich knowledge of music theory and improvisation. Lead singer/ co-songwriter/ drummer Jeremy Neese is also an accomplished songwriter, producer, and performer. He is also an experienced luthier and has a knack for building and repairing instruments and other types of music equipment. Jeremy has been writing music his entire life and is the founder and creative force behind multiple bands and side projects. In Pocket Fire, Jeremy embodies the term ‘pocket’ through his ability to craft soulful and tasty drumbeats which serve as the foundation and heartbeat of the band.

John Paul Barry

John Paul is a seasoned performing musician. Having played well over 1,000 shows in his lifetime, he has performed in many different groups and has toured in several different states throughout the Southeast. He is a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, and music instructor. John Paul has spent his life in the pursuit of musical knowledge and training, and has gained expertise in the areas of music theory, music production, songwriting, improvisation, and performance. His many years of experience in these areas, paired with the vastly diverse amount of music he enjoys and has listened to over the years, has given him a unique style and perspective in his own writing and producing.
John Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Management from the Georgia State University School of Music where his primary instrument of study was Jazz Guitar. He recently graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music with an emphasis on Songwriting and Music Production. After graduation, John Paul plans to start his own sync licensing business Pocket Vibe Studios, LLC which will consist of custom songwriting for advertising, TV/ film, and established recording artists.
John Paul’s career as a music instructor spans over 10 years and has taught well over a hundred students. He currently teaches: Advanced classes in music theory, music production, improvisation, songwriting, guitar, and bass. Intermediate classes in drums, ukulele, and voice. Beginner classes in piano, mandolin, and cello.
